At our farm you have 3 options for your stay.
1.Come sleep, eat breakfast, and go on your way.
2.Come partake of farm life, feed animals, do chores,
eat, sleep, and relax.
3.Come join life on the farm, feed animals, do chores,
learn a new/old skill to become more self sufficient,
eat, sleep, and relax.
In our house we have 4 bedrooms and can
accommodate up to 12 adults. Reservations can be
made by calling (717) 571-8637 and guaranteed by
using a credit card. Rates start at $75.00 and go up,
according to the options you choose. Cancellations
must be made 48 hours prior to your arrival. We
welcome children, pets must be cleared ahead, no
alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs, and we do have
designated smoking areas.
Our farm management is based on sustainable
agriculture. No chemicals are used, we are a natural
producing farm, no large farm equipment. If it's costly
we take a long hard look before we do it.
Some basic skills available are horsemanship,
blacksmithing, welding, carpentry,
timbering/basic forest management principals, animal husbandry, gardening, canning,
freezing, chair caning, spinning, weaving, electrical,
conservation, teamster/draft horse skills, sewing,
herbal uses, etc. If you have an interest not listed just
ask!
To relax you can trail ride, take a horse drawn wagon
ride, sleigh ride, go hiking, cross country skiing,
snowshoeing, picnicking, birdwatching, fishing, study
wildlife, or nap on the porch. Enjoy nearby historic
sites and recreational areas or just relax and watch the
cattle and horses graze.
Special occasions do occur throughout the year.
These include a charity benefit trail ride with bluegrass
music, horse shows, cattle roundups, festivals (i.e.
strawberry festival, fall folk and foliage festival,
fireworks festival, Labor Day bash, Christmas in Our
Community, County Fairs, etc.) and other events. (Call
ahead to check on dates).
